With International Women's Day yesterday perhaps we can celebrate here Dr Ivy Williams, the first woman to be called to the Bar in 1922. She was a true pioneer.

I am a fan of new thinking on the question of equal access to the legal profession for women.

Women don't make better lawyers, they make different lawyers in the sense of bringing a different perspective to the resolution of legal problems.
