PS If only our reputations were as good as those of politicians, My Lord. I think we now are on a par with used car salesmen and estate agents so far as the opinions of the general public are concerned. Personally, I now refer to my occupation as company director and avoid saying I am a solicitor unless obliged to do so. How bad is that?
