Anon 8.54 you're quite correct. The number of people who look blankly at me when I mention Sykes-Picot is terrible. A history professor friend whom I took to see David Lloyd George memorial in Llanystwmdwy said he thought it, i e Sykes-Picot, was more important than the Treaty of Versailles, the 1919 one that is.
