This entire idea is complete kack - plain and simple. If the state insists that there is a compulsory Land Register, then it has to take responsibility both for running the Registry and the integrity of the process. Likewise, the courts. Not only should there be no debate about this. There should be no room even for debate about it.

The Land Registry is no more suitable to be a business opportunity than the High Court is.

That's it. End of story. Anybody who wants to talk about this, should simply bang that drum. Doing anything else is compromising the fundamentals.
