She was not a "kid". She wasn't so very young, either. She was 28 years of age. She wasn't a student or a trainee (though as someone commented, it would have been no excuse if she was); she was an associate solicitor. I agree with those commenters who have expressed disquiet at the level of support manifested here - and the emotional terms in which it has been phrased - for a dishonest solicitor. If I had been her father I would certainly feel "desperately sorry" for her. I don't think it's incumbent on mere members of the profession to do so.
