On reflection I think “dishonest solicitor” in my previous comment, though strictly true, was rather harsh if this was a first offence, so I unsay it. One sometimes forgets, too, that the person concerned may see these threads, and I certainly wouldn’t wish to cause the young lady any further pain. The provocation was given of course by the earlier posts expressing much emotive sympathy and mitigation – which, after all, can do her no real good and hardly reflect well on the profession.
