They've got an open door but they need to keep the PR going ahead of the consultation.

At the end of 2012 there were 34.5m vehicles on our roads. Assume there were 20m vehicle policies (probably a wildly inaccurate estimate as there be policies that will cover multiple vehicles e 2 car families or fleet vehicles etc).

£58m is the cost of detected fraud so assuming 20m policies that means PI RTA fraud adds £2.90 to each policy. Or maybe that is just Aviva's figures and the ABI would suggest that detected fraud overall is £400m with suspected fraud at £1bn...

It'd be great to have transparency wouldn't it?

Cue several members saying I'm a fraud apologist and denier. Fraud happens, it happens a lot and it happens in many walks of life. It sure happens in RTA work via dodgy claimants, CMCs and even, yes even solicitors. But hey it also applies to every solicitor charging an hour to open a file.
