I agree with your last remark Paul but should Jackson and our judiciary be so supine in the face of government policy, whether or not that policy makes any sense in terms of the delivery of justice. It seems as though judges take too much notice of whatever the government of the day says they should be doing, at least at the pre Supreme Court level.
