This is not just a legal aid issue, important though that is. This is an issue which pervades the approach to the provision of legal services. This is what Clementi could not see, and the perception that disruption for the sake of it is 'a good thing' has pervaded all thinking of legislators and regulators since then. I don't imagine we will see accountants pitching for the right to do legal aid work any time soon.
