PI firms, in the majority, spend enormous amounts of time vetting cases and eliminating those which could be deemed fraudulent or exaggerated, right from inception through to the end of a case.

Rather than remove access to justice from those who have genuinely been injured in genuine accidents, the government should focus more time and effort in ensuring greater transparency between insurers and PI solicitors.

Access to askCUE searches is not far enough, insurers still hold a wealth of information that is not available to PI solicitors. If the walls were torn down and the same data was available this would inevitably get rid off huge numbers of those cash for crash schemes.

I welcome and support any effort to combat the proposals put forward by the government, those proposals seem to be a simple slap dash and easy fix to a situation they would rather not deal with.
