Clive Wismeyer's comment above actually demonstrates how difficult it is to set out the limits of a retainer because it does not state whether the Solicitor is responsible for advising the client on how and when the bundle should be served. The Solicitor-hating Judges would probably hold that the Solicitor should have advised on this because without it the client could not be expected to do it properly and therefore find the Solicitor liable. After all, in la-la land the client is always right!
