Fraud data / definition conundrum;

On the one hand, Claimant practitioners will argue that fraud is only those cases where a Judge has found as such at Trial. Conversely, insurers will say that those cases which "smell of fraud", they have alleged as much and then the claims are unsurprisingly dropped will count as fraud.

I think both parties would be wise not to assume that their statistics are correct and the other’s are bogus.

In other words, this is all just spin. But hey, politics and reforms are all predicated on such. Look at Brexit-gate. Its good to see some pro-Claimant spin, albeit we Solicitors already know the issue.
