What worries me is the problem of balancing proportionality of costs with the work required to do the job properly.
It is going to be all too easy to annoy the court or the client when trying to guess what work would be accepted as proportionate in terms of costs in any given case.
I see a likelihood of a huge rise in negligence claims from clients and / or penalties imposed on solicitors by the courts.
In effect the court system is being changed to make it far too risky for clients to sue or for solicitors to accept instructions.
