The Solicitors Profession seem to have missed the point.

Reserved activity is regulated unreserved activity isn't.

So anyone can undertake unreserved activity, however, just because it is unregulated it does not necessarily follow that quality will be less or the consumer will be harmed.

Yes there are shoddy will writers out there but there are shoddy law firms too. I do not believe that SRA regulation has improved quality intact the opposite it has burdened the profession with too much cost and restriction creating an unloved playing field for law firms.

I am a solicitor who has chosen to abandon the law firm model and i am now working for a major brand providing unreserved services. Any reserved activity is passed to panel law firms. The quality of service is higher than most law firms and the profit we make from it and other associated services means we have a scaleable model moving forward and are currently turning over £250m.

I genuinely feel saddened by what the government and SRA have done to this profession. In October i will not be renewing my PC as i have no need for it.
