TIm you are spot on. However as I have always maintained solicitors and solicitor advocates are generally viewed as the poorer relation by both the bar and circuit judges. We need to address this second class citizen attitude. The fact is that the quality of advocacy at the junior bar is probably now on a par with that of senior solicitor advocates who have conducted 50 plus trials in the crown court. The bar and circuit judges have no justification for their unconscious or as I call it subconscious bias.
