Thanks for that valuable contribution once again Frank. Do you think that it might be worth asking the profession if it would like to return to SIF, or something like it? At least that would avoid the sort of mess the unfortunate fifty now caught up in the Gibraltar fiasco find themselves in.

Could it also be so geared to provide run-off cover built into the premiums practitioners pay whilst in practice so that they do not have to face finding a large lump sum before they can retire, or paying premiums for six years after retirement with not income against which they can be offset? That, as you will well know, has caused a lot of otherwise viable practices, well run over many years, to cease to have any marketable value.
