Thanks for that, Frank. It's a pity as I always thought that SIF worked quite well. What is the nature of the objection to it by SRA and LSB please? Surely they are there to serve the profession and if that is what the profession wants, or indeed needs, that is what it should have.

More importantly, perhaps, that might be what the public wants, or needs, and it is after all the protection of the public which should be at the top of their priorities. As things stand the clients of the fifty firms now have no effective insurance protection and their only recourse is to the partners of the firms who might, even as we comment, be 'taking steps' to protect themselves, their families and their assets.
