Whilst I am a qualified solicitor, I sit as a JP. I am appalled by the racism of some of the other magistrates. One said how he wouldn't believe someone with (an English rose name), could be capable of the crime she had committed - yet at the same time mad a number of comments about another person's name -c clearly able to believe she would commit the crime before he had even heard the evidence.

Another woman made comment regarding a Black defendant, surprised he only had two kids, and bet he didn't see them. I told her all fathers know their children - I meant Black fathers - as that is my experience. Disgusting attitudes, heaven knows how they behave when I am not there. Maybe some of them think it is not noticed. They only kid themselves.
