Thank goodness I am at the nd of my career.

There must be a lot of non-lawyers on the LSB for them to come up with this nonsense.

If I go to a medical practitiioner I want to know the status and expertise of the person I go to for a particular ailment and that they are trained to acceptable standards. 'Doctor', 'Mr.' 'Consultant' plus a string of letters are shorthand ways of giving me this information and confidence. The badges and background profesional professional training of Solicitor, Barrister ort Chartered Legal Executive etc. do this in our world. What a stupid idea to make anything like the proposed changes.

We are about to be involved in a careers conference, representing the legal profession, what do we advise all those youngsters who want to be solcitors or barristers?

Q "Should I become a solicitor?"
A. "It could have been a good career , but we don't know what the future is. The powers that be want to abolish 'solicitors'"
Q. "So what should I do"
A. "Search me .... go and ask the LSB"
