Anonymous @ 12:55 - That's where my comment was about to go. But, not only solicitors but barristers also, who, despite their code of conduct still behave badly (an understatement in some cases). In my experience of lawyers their code of conduct is used more as a shield which is used to hide behind so as to hide poor ethics (though not all, but a substantial number). And, the judges faced with a complaint from an LIP (or MacKenzie Friend) turn a blind eye to their behaviour, often, because it is easy to do so.
