How much was the client charged for the defendants' services?

Presumably the report was used/submitted to soften up the other side. Was the other side represented, and if so by whom?

It seems to me that anyone conducting litigation for a third party should be vouched for and regulated, and especially if money is changing hands. This might not have been so pressing when representation was by friends, CABx and so on in relatively low key litigation. But this is no longer the case.

The cat is out of the bag and there is no political will to put it back. A blanket ban is therefore not feasible.
