There is surely a really important reform to be made. The word "standard" should be removed from the disclosure rules, because "standard" disclosure is no longer supposed to be the default option. Rule 31.5(7) says that “At the first or any subsequent case management conference, the court will decide, having regard to the overriding objective and the need to limit disclosure to that which is necessary to deal with the case justly, which of the following orders to make in relation to disclosure”." So-called standard disclosure is only one of a number of options, and taking out the word standard would save a lot of money.
