anon @ 11:58 yes, the insurers have a bigger pot to splash on lobbying / advertising and the ABI is a very effective trade association, and of course their advertising spend does subvert the editorial policy.

So it is a question of exploiting 'paid copy', getting coverage on the BBC and using social media to get the message across: what this needs is money, perhaps not only donations, but also asking PI claimant's to donate .5% of their settlement to a campaign protect the right to restitution in the future? This even with relatively low take up would make for a hefty fighting fund.
