I appeared once as witness in the HIgh Court where a family friend, who used to assist persons appearing in court cases, had persuaded the testator to appoint him as executor of his Will. When he died the so called family friend failed to account to any of the decd's family with the estate which he "stole" or conveniently mislaid with excessive expenses. He rec'd several years in jail but this was no compensation to the young family who could not claim any compensation and were left penniless - All to save the legal fees of preparing a will and obtaining probate. This case rec'd scant recognition from the press because they were unable to crucify the legal profession. When will society realise that it is at the heart of civilisation to enjoy a fair and free legal system which has to be paid for.
