Mr Barry Turner always seems to be haranguing some offstage audience of his own imagination, never dealing with the points actually raised on these threads. I don't suppose any reader of the Law Society Gazette (whatever his or her political views) supposed that the referendum "handed power to the people". What a ridiculous suggestion. Nor are they very likely to have been swept away by a "wave of nationalist hysteria". Indeed I've seen no signs of this alleged tidal wave anywhere in my comings and goings in the Real World since 23rd June. The only thing plausibly (and even then, perhaps unfairly) to be called "hysteria" or "paranoia" on this website has emanated from a few commenters who sometimes seem to be obsessed not so much with love of "Europe" as hatred of some turnip ghost they call nationalism.
