But, Simon, that could all change next month when the SC tells us what the law says, well January anyway when it is due to hand over its decision. Until then, I agree with you, we are governed by the HC's views on the matter. Then what? A further appeal to ECJ? that would be ironic, Europe telling us what our constitution says on the matter. But I do not think that it can be said that HofP didn't have a say, it plainly did and in doing so handed over the decision "in or out" to the people in a referendum.

Some might put it more bluntly and say 'they bottled it'.
