Even those who don't like Thursday's decision must grin and bear it. That is how our system works. We can disagree, but we have to accept it and take our case to appeal. What if SC decides the case 'our' way, are we to expect and accept the Remaindermen's vilification of the result, for that is the hostage to fortune we are making for ourselves if we carry on in the way the tabloid and broadsheet press have reacted? It is quite disgraceful that judges doing what they are paid to do and independently of political and other pressures should be treated in this way. It is bad enough for laymen to do so, for lawyers to join in is ten times worse.
