Nigel Pascoe QC is absolutely correct here.

A Judiciary simply cannot become politically active (not withstanding Griffith's Politics of the Judiciary book and his alternative thesis that they do but in a more soft implicit way).

So we have had a concerted attack on the professionalism of lawyers (Solicitors and Barristers both), destruction pretty nearly of Legal Aid (and Private Criminal fees and therefore access to the courts) in Crime (but also a good way towards it in Civil cases as well). We have had deliberate barring of the justice system in respect of Employment Litigation for Claimants.

The Court system is now creaking at the seams.

The Judges up to now have been admirably very measured .........
