@Laura Bailhache 18.27. A strange post. I don't know what you mean by 'nice try'. You asked someone to give you chapter and verse on the 'advisory nonsense' as I believe you called it and I merely pointed out that it was not nonsense and that it is wrong to say that the people were given the right to decide. It is also wrong technically to talk about the sovereignty of the people and in fact profoundly undemocratic in my view. The people actually voted not that long ago to elect their representatives in Parliament to represent them and those who are suddenly advocating the sovereignty of the people, which has in fact never been a feature of our democracy (Parliament being sovereign), would appear to want to ride roughshod over that. It does not follow from this that Parliament intends to go against the referendum which for some reason you appear to assume it will. Of course, if it did the people could 'cull' them at the next election. That is a pretty unpleasant way of putting it, but it would be democratic. As it happens, I think it highly unlikely that Parliament would vote that way.
