When legal costs far outweigh damages there is something wrong with the system and it needs to change. Maybe Lawyers only have themselves to blame and a few have spoilt it for the many by their excessive greed aided & abbetted by the CMC's , doctors , accident repair garages, Insurers etc?

"There is still so much money to be made by the PI industry it is unlikely this will ever be stopped completely.

This holiday travel claim involved 215 claimants who settled for various amounts but the total damages paid to all 215 claimants probably didn't exceed £200,000. The claimants Solicitors , Irwin Mitchell, claimed £1.75m in costs.

Let me say that again , the costs claimed were £1.75 MILLION POUNDS !

The master reduced these on assessment to just under £1 million pounds ie a reduction of over 40% of the costs claimed . But still 5x the value of the compensation paid to the claimants

No wonder the sale of PI claims persists with such large amounts of money still to be made by Solicitors.
