@Duncan Paine:

Finally a reasonable, factual response. I have seen instances of claimants who were rear ended so badly their car was written off. Out of everyone in the vehicle 2 people made claims. Insurance admitted liability but denied causation (due to the fact two had claimed instead of all 4). How could an accident be serious if the others didn't claim - as their argument. Obviously reports had to be acquired etc. 10 minutes before court they come in wanting to settle. So a claim which cannot, in good sense, be brought up for not being genuine was made needlessly complicated and more expensive by the insurers. Just adding to your story. I have countless others to tell. Sadly the only con in this situation is the government being in bed with the insurers. The general public is too clueless to know the real facts. The law society is impotent and APIL might not be enough. If only there was a "good semaritan" like gina miller who took this to court for us. No messiah's in our midst.
