Sadly the general public rightly or wrongly will have little sympathy for any of the job losses within this sector, similar to those in the banking industry.
Most people now understand that most of the personal injury sector is run by little more than admin staff and that simply because 60K admin staff are happy to tell the world that they earn very little and are under pressure to simply hit targets, the fact these large forms widely advertise for "fee earners" in this sector says it all, you don't see many law firms advertising for customer service roles
