I read the consultation, got drunk and then read it again. It still makes no sense whatsoever. Only 3 weeks or so ago the government back tracked and indicated that they would not be proceeding with the changes only to then publish the consultation. The consultation document appears to have been written even before the lovable George Osbourne gave the last Autumn statement. It is abundantly clear that the document has been hastily prepared and then not properly reviewed because it is so illogical that it could only have been written by someone at the ABI. It has then sat in someones in tray for 12 months. Very strange and very worrying for all who practice in the PI field.
