remaining anonymous for fear of backlash at my small PI firm firm from insurance giants
I have just done some basic math
there are 40,000,000 cars on UK roads- insurance charge average of £1000.00 per car for premiums - yearly turnover -£40 Billion- according to insurance figures they spend £1.5 Billion a year on claims and they are complaining about £40 per premium which allegedly they will give back to the consumer!!
In my experience - insurers allege fraud at any possible moment - allegations are part and parcel of our industry unfortunately and they love painting claimants as opportunistic fraudsters. The maths simply don't add up. I hope everyone will take the opportunity to challenge the flawed consultation paper and impact assessment- I certainly will. Will it help - time will tell but we have all got to do something.
