Yes insurers manage claims that's their job, that's the nature of insurance isn't it? im unsure exactly what your point is with your post, for me the big issue is the fact claimant solicitors and the MOJ have somehow decided that a "moderate sprain to the back" that does not prevent you from working is somehow valued at £3K even if you attend the recommended physiotherapy or not, also some companies think that due to the same accident the claimant is entitled to a brand new hire vehicle which oddly costs numerous times more than hiring the same vehicle from a local hire store, the list is endless but here's a just a few

1) trying to charge £25 a day storage on a motorcycle rather than leaving it with the claimant in their own garage
2) taking a claimants vehicles 100s of miles away to be "assessed" where is deemed a right off due to requiring a geometry test
3) Telephone triage referrals to parent medical companies for every claim regardless of guidelines
4) the years of ghost CNF' where £480 stage 1 costs were paid but oddly never followed up with a medical report
for me these are some of the reasons why the profession will get zero sympathy if the reforms do go ahead
