I was at Hastings MC a couple of weeks back. It now takes all the work from soon-to-close Eastbourne. There were at least two advocates with clients on benefits who'd rung to say could not afford to get to court from Eastbourne. There was a Southern Rail strike that day, so no chance bilking the fare on that. Bus takes an hour at least and the single fare is over a fiver. A cab? Don't even think about it. The justices enlarged bail for both defendants I saw being dealt with. Stop Delaying Justice!
