It needs to become a priority that we find a way to protect the judiciary from this kind of thing.
One way of achieving this (indeed, my favoured way) would be to develop a kind of lawyer that is something short of a judge, but something more than an otherwise unemployed graduate or McKenzie friend.
When this kind of lawyer has been developed, the important thing will be to remember that they will need to be paid properly.
If we get to that stage, we must remember to be quite harsh on anyone who suggests that that notion of payment be done away with.
