We used to have excellent advice and support systems in place for prisoners and those released from custody. Unfortunately some idiot thought that carpet-bombing all this 'wasteful' support would save money. They called it LASPO. Any prison law or social welfare providers that remained were then audited out of existence by an LAA whose only interest is in not spending money.

The answer is not to introduce daft, gimmicky mobile phone apps (aren't they supposed to be banned in prison?) but to restore the LASPO cuts and do it very quickly as the downstream social costs of not doing it are piling up and will dwarf any short-term savings made by LASPO.
