A couple of years ago I looked at the terms of the BTE cover offered with my house insurance. It required me to get counsel's opinion at my expense on any proposed claim before it would offer cover, and even then the cover was hedged about by so many restrictions as to make it worthless. I thought I'd see if there were any free-standing policies available that would offer suitable cover. I was not able to find a single one. I do not know if the situation is any different now, but if it isn't then this is just another example of a fantasy remedy being offered as a solution to a real problem.
