Dear Law Gazette,

In your own database, Mr Ayre , Adjudicator for the Law Society, is mentioned a number of times in relation to Freedom of Information Requests and adjudication thereof.

What surprised me was that I was not permitted to talk with him. This seems most strange to me because when I contacted ICO I was allowed to talk with a person there in respect of concerns about a Freedom of Information Request to a State Authority.

What do you know about the Code that pertains to the Law Society / SRA?

Mr Ayre wrote to me:

"It would be entirely inappropriate for us to have a telephone conversation since anything that either you or The Law Society have to say to me should be in documented form so that I may refer to it in any ruling or adjudication. "

Has anyone else had such a response?

And will the new CEO change this so that people can talk with the Adjudicator?
