Oh yes they do. The top executives of the major insurers meet and discuss premiums and decide how they will approach the issue every year.

There is no free market here. Its a cartel with the big insures just as there is a cartel with the big 6 energy giants.

And there is no such thing as a hidden hand of the market either. Adam Smith thought there was, but Keynes pointed out the obvious. The reason it's hidden is because it doesn't exist.
