As a general point of interest to aspiring lawyers reading this, run. The salary is not what it was. The status is not what it was. The 'consumers' are not what they were. The regulatory body is a joke.

People will think you're loaded, you won't be. You'll be saddled with debt for the rest of your miserable working life. Unless you're lucky enough to get struck off by the SDT. You can add their £Gazillion costs to your existing credit woes, no doubt. Prepare to wonder in amazement how your less qualified and less intelligent non-lawyer friends have a nice house, a nice car, nice possessions. You won't. Not for a long long time, if ever.

And all this whether or not you earn minimum trainee wage. Just thank your lucky stars that people of the aforementioned Ms Emmerson's ilk are there to give you a shot in the arm you need. Oh wait...
