i think Tom @ 10.41 has pretty much nailed it. Superfluous legislation which will fail to resolve the (non existent) problems it claims to fix! I took the time out this weekend to re read the consultation and the responses lodged by APIl , Law Soc etc. No rational objective person could agree with the proposals in their present form. What is incredible is that the proposals have to still to clarify what the trigger date for the proposed reforms will be. Is date of loss or date of issue? Will the portal still exist? How on earth can I as a solicitor and business owner make any sensible plans going forward when I have no idea whether the new instructions I am presently accepting will be cost bearing or not. It beggars belief.
