Interesting what Stephen Harvey QC says. I guess he like every other practitioner in Crime is looking around for work. And don't forget that they made up loads of QC's in the 1970's and 1980's but even then he needed 29 years to take the coveted midas train.

I think that paralegals have their part as I have said, but try getting them to force an issue against the Barrister they are supposed to be 'instructing' (if indeed it is that way around, after all he who pays the piper so to speak).

Often Solicitors know more practically about the area of litigation the Barrister is supposed to be working in. Replace them with paralegals by all means in some cases but possibly then repent at leisure.

I am by the way, no establishment lawyer in any way shape or form to suggest continuing cosy relationships etc. ...
