As has been said, you can ban cold calling but it will have little or no affect. Many such calls originate from outside the UK.

I would hazard a well-educated guess based on 25 years in the industry that at least 30% of all RTA claimants originate from cold calling

Unfortunately, solicitors who have previously taken this work have only helped the ABI agenda.

Most of the large RTA factories would not risk taking this work, but unfortunately the smaller and less scrupulous firms have taken it in droves.

Remarkably, a by-product of the SCL increase will almost certainly be an upsurge in these calls as the ABI has no appreciation of the "gate keeping" service that most law firms provide (for their own protection) before the claim hits the portal.
