Anon @ 14:40 what a facile argument: I am not a criminal nor am I (thank god) a regular victim of crime, so by your argument why should I pay for the police, HMP estate and so on?

The answer for all the hard of thinking is that one of the costs of living in a pleasant liberal democracy that respects individual rights and liberties is that we all contribute to the concomitant costs.
