I was ready to do my usual thing and criticise Michael's piece however I share his fears. I would add that his fears of open justice being hidden are well founded. Ifound that out recently when trying to apply for a writ of Habeas Corpus. Instead of being give access to a judge, any judge, 24/7/365 I was limited to a judge sitting at the royal courts of justice between the hours of 10 am to 3.30 pm on Monday to Friday. Even then I could not see a judge. He hid in a back office and communicated with me in writing via a clerk . I had to pay a large fee which I did under protest because Magna Carta states it should be free. Needless to say I did not get my application. The judge demanded that the person holding the prisoner should be represented. Open Justice I wish. We are all being gradually enslaved. So Neuberger thinks the press unfair by criticising judges. He might consider how 8 judges said that parliament should debate article 50 . All 11 did not mention that the Lisbon Treaty containing article 50 is unlawful because it gave away our sovereignty to a foreign power.
