The reason people get married fundamentally has got nothing to do with belief in God or any prophet. It is because human beings, like many other creatures, especially those which produce offspring that are vulnerable and need the care of both parents, have evolved a tendency to pair-bond for mating and offspring-rearing purposes. Other examples of pair-bonding animals are wandering albatrosses, mimic poison frogs, hornbills and gibbons.
