That's an easy one. They are both appointed as a job share. The first can do Mondays and Wednesdays, the latter Tuesdays and Thursdays and they can take it in turns to do Fridays via a video link from home!

Did I hear someone say that justice can't be done that way? Surely its about the needs of a diverse judiciary rather than court users. The latter should be grateful that they've got a human(?) sitting in court four days out of five.
