Is this not the key? If solicitors knew the claim was not worth more than £5,000, then why did they (both) run up ridiculous amount in costs. Why was a Part 36 for at least £5000 not made even prior to the commencement of proceedings? ..."

Quite. And before (if necessary),that a Registrars Report obtained to substantiate that.

In view of the individuals we have heard that are unqualified commenting on here, I shall reserve my comments in reply. The hourly rate (including what was known as uplift that is now an hourly rate that also compensates for lost cases), was appropriately paid (and the holistic sum), it would seem.
